Adani Enterprises and Jabil have signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish a 50:50 joint venture for manufacturing and assembling artificial intelligence (AI) and data centre hardware in India. The proposed venture will target growing demand for computing infrastructure in India and international markets.
The agreement, announced on October 13, 2026, outlines plans to develop a manufacturing platform covering several critical components used in AI-powered data centres. The partnership follows an announcement in June 2026 in which the two companies expressed their intention to collaborate on India’s AI infrastructure manufacturing ecosystem.
Joint Venture to Manufacture AI Infrastructure
Under the proposed arrangement, the companies plan to manufacture and assemble AI racks, servers, storage systems and networking equipment. The product portfolio will also include supporting infrastructure such as power distribution units, transformers and liquid-cooling systems.
The venture is expected to develop multi-gigawatt AI rack manufacturing capacity. It will also provide installation and commissioning services for data centre infrastructure.
However, the partnership is not yet final. The companies must execute definitive agreements, obtain the necessary approvals and meet customary conditions before the joint venture can be established.
Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani said the collaboration would extend the group’s involvement in AI infrastructure from energy and data centre operations into engineering and manufacturing. Jabil CEO Mike Dastoor highlighted the combination of Jabil’s manufacturing expertise and Adani’s infrastructure and energy capabilities.
India’s Growing Data Centre Market
India’s data centre capacity is projected to reach between 5 GW and 8 GW by 2030, supported by the expansion of cloud services, AI adoption and data localisation requirements. The companies also cited more than $50 billion in planned hyperscaler spending across data centre, cloud and AI ecosystems.
The proposed manufacturing facility is intended to serve domestic customers while supporting exports. Adani and Jabil estimate that the global market opportunity for AI computing infrastructure could exceed $3 trillion over the next seven years.
The project also aligns with Adani Group’s commitment to invest $100 billion in developing 5 GW of green-energy-powered, AI-ready hyperscale data centres by 2035.
For Jabil, which reported $36 billion in revenue in fiscal 2026, the partnership would expand its presence in India’s data centre infrastructure market. The proposed venture would bring hardware manufacturing alongside Adani’s existing interests in energy, infrastructure and data centres.
