HCLTech and Anthropic have entered a global partnership to help businesses deploy agentic artificial intelligence (AI) across enterprise operations, with a focus on security, governance and responsible implementation. Announced on October 12, 2026, the agreement will combine HCLTech’s technology services with Anthropic’s Claude AI models and related tools.
Under the agreement, HCLTech will establish a dedicated Anthropic Business Unit and a Center of Excellence (CoE) to develop enterprise AI solutions. The unit will also provide secure sandbox environments for businesses testing and deploying Claude, supported by forward-deployed engineers (FDEs).
The initiative will focus on helping organisations adopt AI-native engineering practices, train employees and develop the internal capabilities needed to manage AI systems at scale. The partnership is intended to support businesses moving beyond experimentation towards practical deployment of AI agents in operational environments.
HCLSoftware will join the collaboration as an independent software vendor (ISV) partner. It plans to integrate Claude and Claude Code into selected enterprise products covering cybersecurity, automation, business process applications and application development. Products named in the announcement include HCL BigFix and HCL AppScan, alongside work to enable Actian AI Analyst.
The companies will also integrate Claude and Claude Code into HCLTech’s AI Force platform, which supports agentic software engineering. Planned applications include IT support, code remediation and digital employee services. HCLTech said these workflows will incorporate policy controls, exception handling and human oversight for changes with significant potential impact.
Anthropic President and co-founder Daniela Amodei said the partnership would help organisations use Claude in sensitive business environments, including banking, healthcare, telecommunications and manufacturing.
HCLTech CEO and Managing Director C. Vijayakumar said the company’s combination of systems integration expertise and software products would support the secure development and deployment of enterprise AI solutions.
The agreement builds on HCLTech’s existing capabilities in engineering, data, cloud and software. Its central focus is the integration of AI tools into business systems while maintaining governance and human supervision.
The partnership adds to HCLTech’s efforts to expand enterprise adoption of agentic AI, in which AI systems can carry out tasks through coordinated actions rather than only generating responses to prompts.
