ZenaTech Expands U.S. Drone Services Network With Ohio Surveying Acquisition

ZenaTech acquires Ohio-based BA Land Professionals, completing its 26th Drone as a Service acquisition and expanding operations across four states.

ZenaTech has completed its 26th Drone as a Service acquisition by purchasing Ohio-based BA Land Professionals LLC, expanding its operations into a 12th U.S. state and adding surveying capabilities across four states.

ZenaTech has acquired Dayton, Ohio-based BA Land Professionals LLC, marking the company’s 26th acquisition under its Drone as a Service (DaaS) strategy and establishing its first operational presence in Ohio.

The newly acquired land surveying firm is licensed to operate in Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee and North Carolina, extending ZenaTech’s service coverage across four states while increasing its U.S. footprint to 12 states. The company said the expansion is intended to strengthen its presence in sectors including construction, infrastructure, energy and public works.

BA Land Professionals provides professional land surveying services for customers in the construction, industrial, energy and government sectors. Its work includes construction layout, topographic and boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS surveys, drone and LiDAR mapping, and GPS control services using surveying and scanning technologies.

According to ZenaTech, the acquisition also brings an experienced management team with a combined 40 years of surveying expertise. Chief Executive Officer Shaun Passley said the transaction supports the company’s strategy of expanding its nationwide Drone as a Service network by integrating established surveying businesses with drone and LiDAR capabilities.

The company plans to introduce additional drone-enabled services in the region, including construction progress monitoring, 3D site mapping through its ZenaWorx platform, land surveying and geomatics, utility and powerline inspections, transportation and industrial infrastructure monitoring, oil and gas infrastructure services, and precision agriculture.

ZenaTech said Ohio’s activity across construction, manufacturing, infrastructure, logistics and energy industries provides opportunities to expand recurring drone-based services designed to improve data collection, project oversight and operational efficiency.

The acquisition forms part of the company’s broader expansion strategy for its Drone as a Service business, which provides on-demand and subscription-based drone services to commercial and government customers. Rather than requiring clients to own and operate drone fleets, the model offers outsourced services for surveying, inspections, maintenance, inventory management and precision agriculture through a network of acquired service providers.
