India continues to strengthen its position as a global investment destination, with significant opportunities emerging across infrastructure, electronics manufacturing, renewable energy, pharmaceuticals and electric mobility, according to Invest India’s India Opportunity platform.

Infrastructure remains one of the key pillars of India’s growth story. The country is expected to see an investment outlay of approximately US$1.7 trillion between 2024 and 2030, while the government’s Second Asset Monetization Plan 2025-30 is expected to channel US$117 billion into new projects. Private sector investments are expected to contribute US$294 billion towards infrastructure development.

India’s renewable energy sector continues to gain momentum as the country works towards achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel energy capacity by 2030. The country has already crossed 242.8 GW of installed non-fossil fuel capacity, accounting for more than 50% of the nation’s total installed power capacity. India has also committed to reducing GDP emission intensity by 45% by 2030 and achieving net-zero emissions by 2070.

The electronics manufacturing sector is also expected to witness substantial growth. Invest India estimates that the country’s electronics manufacturing industry could reach US$500 billion by 2030, while electronics exports are projected to reach US$50 billion by FY26. The semiconductor market alone is expected to reach US$103 billion by 2030.

Electric mobility presents another major opportunity. India is targeting 16 million electric two-wheelers by 2030, supported by strong growth in EV adoption and policy initiatives. To support this transition, the country is estimated to require approximately 444,000 public EV charging stations.

In the pharmaceutical sector, India continues to build on its position as the “Pharmacy of the World.” The industry is expected to grow at around 11% CAGR and reach US$130 billion by 2030. India is also the third-largest destination for clinical trials and contributes nearly 20% of the global biosimilar development pipeline.

With opportunities spanning manufacturing, clean energy, healthcare, infrastructure and advanced technologies, India continues to attract global investor interest while strengthening its position as a long-term growth market.
