Pune, India: Suzlon has received a 201.6 MW wind energy order from Waaree Group, marking the company’s first project under a developer-led (DevCo) model while expanding its partnership with one of India’s growing renewable energy players.
The order represents a new milestone for Suzlon as it enters the DevCo segment through its collaboration with Waaree Group. The project will be developed in Gujarat and is expected to support Waaree’s renewable energy expansion while contributing to India’s clean energy capacity.
Under the agreement, Suzlon will supply 64 of its S144 wind turbine generators, each with a rated capacity of 3.15 MW. The turbines will be installed on Hybrid Lattice Towers (HLTs), a configuration designed to improve project efficiency at suitable wind sites.
Beyond equipment supply, Suzlon’s responsibilities extend across the project’s lifecycle. The company will execute foundation work, installation, commissioning and ongoing operations and maintenance services after the wind farm becomes operational.
For Waaree Group, the project strengthens its renewable energy portfolio and supports its long-term clean power strategy. The collaboration also reflects increasing demand for utility-scale wind projects as businesses seek to expand renewable energy generation in line with India’s energy transition goals.
The project is Suzlon’s first engagement under the DevCo framework, where renewable energy developers establish projects before transferring them to long-term asset owners or investors. The company views the order as an opportunity to diversify its business model while continuing to support large-scale wind energy deployment across the country.
The latest order adds to Suzlon’s growing commercial pipeline and reinforces its presence in India’s wind energy market. As demand for renewable infrastructure continues to increase, projects of this scale are expected to contribute to higher renewable power generation while supporting national clean energy objectives.
The company did not disclose the financial value of the contract or the expected commissioning timeline in the announcement.
