On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called on Swedish and European businesses to invest in India, emphasizing the nation’s quick reforms, expanding manufacturing sector, and developing technological ecosystem.
Speaking at the European Round Table for Industry in Gothenburg, Modi claimed that during the past ten years, policy changes, infrastructure development, and digital transformation had propelled India’s “Reform Express” forward at full speed.
Artificial intelligence, electronics, deep-tech manufacturing, telecom, renewable energy, healthcare, and digital infrastructure are just a few of the industries in which the prime minister asked businesses to work together. He positioned India as a worldwide center for manufacturing and research and development while highlighting the nation’s objective of “Design for India, Make in India, and Export from India.”
Additionally, Modi hailed the newly signed Free Trade Agreement between the European Union and India, describing it as a transformative economic alliance that may strengthen investment and trade connections.
Ulf Kristersson, the prime minister of Sweden, Ursula von der Leyen, the president of the European Commission, and prominent business executives were there.
Modi asked businesses to take part in programs like the National Critical Mineral Mission and National Green Hydrogen Mission during separate discussions with Swedish business leaders.
