Meta, EssilorLuxottica Unveil New AI-Powered Smart Glasses Line

Meta and eyewear manufacturer EssilorLuxottica have launched a new line of smart glasses aimed at bringing artificial intelligence features into everyday eyewear, marking the latest step in the companies’ long-running collaboration on wearable technology.

The new Meta Glasses collection debuted on June 23 and includes three frame designs: the rectangular Meta Adventurer, the bolder Meta Fury and Meta Glasses by Kylie, a slim oval model created in collaboration with Kylie Jenner. The range is available in 26 combinations of frames, lenses and colors and supports prescription lenses. Prices begin at $299.

The glasses build on technology previously used in Meta’s smart eyewear products and feature hands-free photo and video capture, open-ear audio, voice controls and direct access to Meta AI. The devices also include a dedicated action button for AI functions, an advanced microphone system designed to improve voice interactions and more than eight hours of battery life on a single charge. A portable charging case provides up to 40 additional hours of use.

Meta said the new eyewear is the first in its portfolio to launch with Meta AI powered by Muse Spark, the company’s latest artificial intelligence model developed through Meta Superintelligence Labs. The updated AI system is designed to provide enhanced multimodal capabilities, allowing users to interact with information based on what they see and hear through the glasses.

The company also announced several software features for the platform, including Dynamic Photo, which automatically captures multiple images and recommends the strongest shot. Future updates are expected to add pedestrian navigation and expand live translation support with 14 additional languages, including Hindi, Mandarin, Japanese and Korean.

Meta Glasses are available immediately through Meta and selected retail partners in several countries. The launch comes as competition in the smart eyewear market intensifies, with major technology companies increasing investment in AI-powered wearable devices.
