Pune, India: Gabriel India has entered into a strategic joint venture with South Korea-based HL Klemove, investing US$98.44 million to expand into autonomous driving, ADAS and automotive electronics.
The partnership was announced on August 26, 2026, as Gabriel India looks to broaden its business beyond its traditional ride control products and participate in newer automotive technology segments.
Under the agreement, Gabriel India Limited will acquire a 30 per cent less one share stake in HL Klemove India Private Limited for US$98.44 million, approximately ₹935 crore. The investment will make Gabriel India a strategic shareholder in the Indian joint venture.
The new venture will develop, manufacture and sell a range of advanced mobility technologies. These include radar, front cameras, lidar, automated driving and parking control units with embedded ADAS software. The portfolio will also cover automotive electronics such as brake ECUs, steering ECUs, chassis control units and torque sensors.
The partnership gives Gabriel India an entry into autonomous driving and automotive electronics, areas that are becoming increasingly important as vehicle manufacturers add more sensing, computing and automated driving functions to their products.
HL Klemove brings expertise across perception, decision-making and vehicle control. The South Korean company has capabilities spanning radar and camera-based sensing, high-performance computing, control units, ADAS software and electronic control systems.
According to the announcement, HL Klemove has more than 2,700 patents and operates a global manufacturing and research and development network across Korea, the United States, China, India and Mexico. The company recorded approximately KRW 1.8 trillion in revenue in 2025.
In India, HL Klemove has already established manufacturing capabilities for ADAS radar and smart cameras. The company holds a leading position in the country’s autonomous driving sector, according to ANAND Group.
For Gabriel India, the joint venture follows a series of moves into additional automotive segments, including sunroofs, lubricants, EV fluids and precision fasteners. The company is now adding autonomous driving and automotive electronics to that portfolio.
Gabriel India is the flagship company of the US$2.2 billion+ ANAND Group, which has 25 operating companies, including 15 joint ventures and 4 technical collaborations. The group operates across 87 locations in India and employs more than 22,000 people.
The joint venture marks Gabriel India’s latest move to build a broader mobility technology portfolio as automotive electronics and driver-assistance systems become increasingly important to vehicle development.
