After a stunning $65 billion investment round that increased its valuation to $965 billion post-money, the artificial intelligence company Anthropic surpassed OpenAI to become the most valuable startup in the world.
Leading investors like Altimeter Capital, Dragoneer, Greenoaks, and Sequoia Capital participated in the most recent Series H fundraising round, demonstrating their increasing faith in Anthropic’s enterprise-focused AI approach. Additionally, the corporation stated that its annualized revenue run rate increased from roughly $10 billion to $47 billion.
Claude, Anthropic’s main AI model and chatbot platform, has played a major role in this expansion. The company stated that while developers and professionals continue to use its AI-powered products, companies in a variety of industries are increasingly incorporating Claude into their everyday operations.
Krishna Rao, Chief Financial Officer at Anthropic, claims that Claude has developed into a vital platform for clients all around the world. Products like Cowork and Claude Code have been widely used and are some of the company’s fastest-growing sources of income.
According to Anthropic, the additional funding will be utilized to develop computing infrastructure, speed up AI research, and make Claude more widely available. Along with previously committed investments from significant technological partners, Capital Group, Coatue, D1 Capital Partners, GIC, ICONIQ, and XN also participated in the capital round.
The company has signed large-scale computing agreements with Amazon, Google, Broadcom, and SpaceX to meet future demand. Although Claude is accessible via Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and Amazon Web Services, AWS continues to be Anthropic’s major cloud and AI training partner.
