Gurugram-based Vision AI company Intozi Tech has partnered with Netherlands-based Axelera AI to deploy AI-powered video analytics at the edge, targeting government, industrial and enterprise applications worldwide.
Under the partnership, Intozi’s Ikshana AI video analytics platform will run on Axelera AI’s Metis AI Processing Unit (AIPU). The companies said the combination is intended to support real-time video analytics across critical infrastructure, public safety, manufacturing, oil and gas, airports and smart-city environments without relying on cloud infrastructure or high-cost GPU hardware.
The partnership addresses a growing requirement for processing video data closer to where it is generated. Large-scale deployments can involve hundreds of camera streams, while some locations have limited connectivity or strict data-sovereignty requirements. Intozi said Ikshana currently supports 300+ AI use cases across 500+ customers globally.
According to Intozi, internal benchmarking of Ikshana on the Metis AIPU recorded 2.7× higher throughput per stream compared with the company’s previous performance benchmarks. The company said the improvement could allow more cameras to be handled by a single device while reducing total cost of ownership and supporting deployments where bandwidth and response time are important considerations.
The edge-based approach allows AI inference to take place closer to cameras and other data sources rather than sending video continuously to remote cloud infrastructure. This is particularly relevant for industrial and public-sector environments where real-time decisions and local data processing can be important.
The partnership brings together Intozi’s software platform with Axelera AI’s dedicated edge-AI processing technology. Intozi develops Vision AI solutions through its Ikshana platform, while Axelera AI develops AI acceleration technology designed for efficient inference at the edge.
