Mumbai, India: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Porsche AG have entered a strategic partnership to expand AI-driven capabilities across the automaker’s mobility operations, alongside a proposed acquisition of Porsche’s Germany-based IT consulting subsidiary, MHP.

Announced on August 24, 2026, the five-year strategic agreement will see TCS establish a dedicated AI Mobility Centre of Excellence for Porsche. The centre will focus on applying AI across manufacturing, engineering, operations and customer experience, with the aim of turning AI applications into scalable solutions across Porsche’s product and value chain.

As part of the arrangement, TCS, through a subsidiary, plans to acquire 100% of MHP Management- und IT-Beratung GmbH, subject to regulatory approvals. MHP is Porsche’s Germany-based management and IT consulting subsidiary and has expertise in automotive and industrial consulting, business transformation, AI, SAP, manufacturing digitalisation and connected mobility.

The proposed acquisition would add MHP’s automotive consulting and implementation capabilities to TCS’s technology and engineering operations. It would also strengthen TCS’s presence in Germany and its engagement with European automotive and industrial customers.

The new AI Mobility Centre of Excellence will work on use cases spanning intelligent manufacturing and operations, engineering and customer experience. TCS and Porsche intend to combine Porsche’s automotive engineering expertise with TCS’s capabilities in AI, product engineering, technology and business transformation.

The five-year business agreement provides the framework for the companies to pursue longer-term AI initiatives. The focus will be on scaling AI applications and linking them to operational outcomes across Porsche’s organisation and wider mobility ecosystem.

For Porsche, the arrangement represents a shift in how it is organising parts of its technology and consulting capabilities. The planned transfer of MHP to TCS would allow Porsche to focus more closely on its core automotive activities while retaining a strategic technology relationship with TCS.

For TCS, the deal expands its involvement in the automotive sector and adds MHP’s established European industry expertise to its existing AI and engineering capabilities.

The transaction and partnership remain subject to the required regulatory approvals. Deutsche Bank AG is serving as financial advisor to TCS, while Noerr is providing legal counsel.

The agreement reflects the growing role of AI, software and data in automotive operations, with both companies positioning the partnership around the development of more technology-driven and software-defined mobility systems.
