Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda will launch Aarogya Setu 2.0 along with a suite of new digital health initiatives on June 29, marking another step in India’s ongoing effort to strengthen digital healthcare infrastructure. The rollout introduces new platforms and services aimed at improving patient access, interoperability, healthcare records management and digital public health services under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM).
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has announced that Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda will unveil Aarogya Setu 2.0 and several digital health initiatives on June 29, 2026. The launch is intended to expand India’s digital healthcare ecosystem by making health services more accessible, connected and citizen-centric.
Among the key announcements is Aarogya Setu 2.0, which introduces a comprehensive Personal Health Record (PHR) adoption system. The upgraded platform will enable citizens to create, manage and securely access their health records while strengthening integration with the Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) framework.
The ministry will also introduce Ayushman Aadhar, a WhatsApp-based service that allows users to access health-related information and essential digital services through a familiar messaging platform. Another addition is e-Sushrut Clinic, a digital platform designed to support primary healthcare providers by improving clinical workflows and enhancing last-mile healthcare delivery.
To improve interoperability across India’s healthcare ecosystem, the government will launch the National Health Claims Exchange (NHCX), which establishes standardised electronic health claims processing between healthcare providers and insurance companies. Complementing this effort is the Unified Health Interface (UHI), an open network that connects patients with healthcare providers and digital health applications across the country.
The digital health rollout also includes the FHIR Bridge, enabling legacy healthcare systems to exchange health information using global interoperability standards, and the Drug Registry, a platform for maintaining standardised medicine-related data. The Health Records Registry and Bharat Health Terminology Service (BHTS) will further strengthen standardisation, interoperability and secure data exchange across healthcare systems.
Together, these initiatives are expected to support healthcare providers, insurance companies, digital health innovators and patients by simplifying access to health services while improving the efficiency of India’s digital public health infrastructure.
The Ministry said the new platforms build on the objectives of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, which aims to create a unified, secure and interoperable digital health ecosystem for citizens across the country.
