Reliance Industries has reached a significant milestone in its clean energy expansion by launching the first 200 MWp batch of high-efficiency solar modules from its Dhirubhai Ambani Green Energy Giga Complex in Jamnagar, Gujarat.

According to the business, compared to traditional industry norms, the 720-watt-peak BIS-certified heterojunction technology (HJT) solar panels offer roughly 10% higher energy yield and 25% lower deterioration. Reliance intends to scale capacity to 10 GWp yearly, with ambitions to expand to 20 GWp, and is progressively commissioning its solar cell and module manufacturing lines.

The Jamnagar complex, which spans 5,000 acres, is being constructed as an integrated green energy ecosystem that includes solar manufacturing, batteries, green hydrogen, and bio-energy infrastructure.

Reliance added that the advanced commissioning of its battery energy storage system giga-factory is almost complete, with an initial capacity of 40 GWh per year. Through a technological partnership with Nel ASA, the company is constructing an electrolyser giga-factory in the green hydrogen sector.

The corporation has invested over Rs 75,000 crore in its clean energy infrastructure, which is anticipated to facilitate the production of green fuels and large-scale renewable power.
