Ryanair and Google Cloud have announced a five-year data and artificial intelligence partnership that will bring Google Cloud services, Gemini Enterprise and Google Workspace to 35,000 employees across Ryanair’s network.

The partnership is designed to support Ryanair’s long-term growth strategy as the airline targets 300 million passengers annually by 2034. The agreement will combine cloud infrastructure, generative AI and collaboration tools to improve operational efficiency, decision-making and infrastructure resilience.

A key component of the partnership is Gemini Enterprise, Google Cloud’s agentic AI platform. Ryanair plans to use the technology to connect organisational data, automate workflows and develop customised AI agents. The airline expects these capabilities to support automated decision-making, optimise flight crew logistics and improve productivity across its operations.

The agreement also introduces a dual-cloud strategy for Ryanair. By using multiple cloud providers, the airline aims to strengthen the resilience of its technology infrastructure and maintain critical services even if one cloud environment experiences disruption.

Ryanair will also utilise Google DeepMind technologies, including AlphaEvolve and WeatherNext, to support operational planning. These AI capabilities are expected to assist with fleet operations and maintenance scheduling, helping the airline improve planning and operational efficiency.

Google Workspace with Gemini will further modernise Ryanair’s workplace collaboration infrastructure. The deployment is intended to replace existing collaboration systems with a cloud-focused platform and provide employees with AI-enabled tools for productivity and workflow management.

The partnership extends beyond internal productivity, with Google Cloud’s AI and multi-cloud services also supporting customer service and operational planning. The companies said the collaboration demonstrates how generative AI can be deployed at scale to help aviation companies improve efficiency, reduce operational costs and support business growth.

Ryanair currently operates approximately 3,900 daily flights from 95 bases, connecting more than 220 airports across 35 countries. The airline group carries around 216 million passengers annually and has almost 650 aircraft, with 300 new Boeing 737 aircraft on order to support its planned expansion.

The five-year agreement highlights the growing role of AI and cloud technologies in the aviation sector, particularly in areas such as crew management, fleet operations, maintenance planning and enterprise productivity. For Ryanair, the partnership is expected to provide the technology foundation needed to scale its operations while maintaining its focus on efficiency and infrastructure resilience.
