Piyush Goyal Calls for India-Led Innovation and Manufacturing Push

Piyush Goyal, the Union Commerce and Industry Minister, has presented an ambitious plan for India’s manufacturing and technology sectors, calling on businesses to go beyond goods that are only “assembled in India” to ones that are completely developed, created, and produced domestically.

Goyal emphasized the need for stronger local manufacturing capabilities, increased value addition, and self-reliance in crucial components when speaking to industry stakeholders. He claimed that in order to guarantee high-quality production while preserving environmental sustainability, India must concentrate on “zero defect, zero effect” manufacturing.

The minister also urged the adoption of international quality standards, more funding for research and development (R&D), and initiatives to bolster Brand India in foreign markets. He called for companies and entrepreneurs to assume leadership positions in cutting-edge technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and quantum computing, highlighting India’s expanding talent pool.

Goyal stated that if industry, innovation, and sustainability are in line with long-term national objectives, India has the potential to become a global center for sophisticated manufacturing and next-generation technology.
