Chery targets Europe with ‘Double-T Strategy’ combining Toyota quality and Tesla innovation.

Chery, China’s top auto exporter, is stepping up its global expansion with a “Double-T Strategy” inspired by Toyota and Tesla, which aims to combine high-quality production with cutting-edge electric vehicle (EV) innovation.
The corporation is aggressively expanding across Europe, including growing its operations in Spain and pursuing local manufacturing collaborations. Chery is also creating tiny, market-specific vehicles to meet European customer demands and stringent low-carbon laws.
With 2.8 million vehicles sold in 2025, an 8% rise year on year, Chery is positioning itself alongside competitors such as BYD and Geely to reshape the global auto industry with competitively priced EVs.
Its overseas brands, Omoda and Jaecoo, have found popularity, with the Jaecoo 7 SUV emerging as a top performer in the United Kingdom.
Chery’s strategy points to a larger shift in global automotive dynamics, as Chinese automakers rapidly develop by combining affordability, innovation, and global market adaptability.
