Ericsson Produces 15,000 Antennas in India for Global Markets

Ericsson has produced over 15,000 antennas and 25 million components in India since July 2025, with antennas exported to Europe and global markets.

October 7, 2026: Ericsson has produced more than 15,000 antennas and 25 million components in India since July 2025, expanding the country’s role in its global manufacturing and supply network. The company said antennas made in India are now being exported to Europe and other international markets.

The milestone follows Ericsson’s introduction of export-ready antennas manufactured in India in 2025. Since then, the company has expanded its local network of suppliers and production partners, building capabilities across component sourcing, engineering, manufacturing and exports.

The expansion comes as telecom operators prepare networks for 5G Standalone, AI-driven network operations and future connectivity technologies. Antennas are a key part of this infrastructure, influencing signal coverage, network capacity, uplink performance, spectrum efficiency and energy consumption.

Ericsson’s antenna portfolio is designed to help communications service providers improve network performance while making more efficient use of existing spectrum and infrastructure. The company is developing its Indian manufacturing ecosystem to serve both domestic requirements and demand from overseas markets.

Mikael Eriksson, Head of Ericsson Antenna System, said the production milestone represents progress towards establishing an end-to-end antenna ecosystem in India. He noted that combining local sourcing and manufacturing with Ericsson’s global engineering capabilities would support customers in India and abroad.

Andres Vicente, CEO for Southeast Asia, Oceania and India at Ericsson, said the country’s manufacturing and engineering capabilities were becoming an increasingly important part of the company’s global operations. He also highlighted collaboration with local manufacturing and technology partners as a means of expanding the ecosystem.

Ericsson began developing its local antenna manufacturing capabilities in 2025, with production initially focused on passive antennas. The company’s subsequent move into exports marked a shift beyond supplying the Indian market to serving international customers from its India-based operations.

The company said it plans to continue expanding local engineering, production and export capabilities as mobile networks evolve towards more intelligent and energy-efficient systems. Its latest milestone reflects India’s growing contribution to Ericsson’s global supply chain for telecommunications equipment. (Ericsson)
