JK Fenner and Japan’s Yamada Form Auto Components Partnership

J.K. Fenner (India) and Japan's Yamada Manufacturing announce a strategic relationship on technology transfer and local auto component production.

J.K. Fenner (India) Limited and Japan’s Yamada Manufacturing Co., Ltd. have entered a strategic relationship to develop and manufacture advanced automotive components for Indian and international markets. The companies announced the tie-up on October 1, 2026. The announcement did not mention financial terms.

The arrangement pairs Yamada’s Japanese technology and product development with JK Fenner’s manufacturing base, engineering capability and customer network. The two companies said they intend to speed up innovation, improve product quality and meet the changing requirements of automakers, including those building next-generation mobility products.

Five areas of work were listed. They are technology transfer for advanced component manufacturing, joint product development to global quality and performance standards, and localisation of advanced technology products for the Indian automotive market. The remaining two are improvements to manufacturing processes, quality systems and engineering capabilities, and the supply of reliable, cost-effective mobility solutions to customers.

For Yamada, the deal is a route into India. The Japanese company said the relationship should help it enter the market sooner and expand its business in the country.

Yamada was established in 1946 and supplies global automakers. Its products include oil pumps, water pumps, steering columns and drivetrain components, along with other precision systems. It focuses on parts for driving, steering and braking, including transmission and steering system components, and pumps for cars and motorcycles. The company operates in Japan, the United States, China and Thailand.

JK Fenner makes automotive and industrial engineering products. Its range covers power transmission products, automotive components, sealing solutions, fluid transfer systems and engineered products. The company supplies automakers and industrial customers in India and abroad.

The announcement did not say which components will be localised first or when production is expected to begin.
