Accenture has expanded its collaboration with the European Commission’s Directorate-General for International Partnerships (DG INTPA), helping the organisation scale an artificial intelligence platform that is now supporting thousands of employees across its worldwide operations. The initiative is designed to improve access to institutional knowledge, streamline complex decision-making and enhance productivity across more than 100 countries.
The collaboration began in September 2025, with Accenture working alongside DG INTPA to modernise internal operations through artificial intelligence. Since the production platform was introduced in March 2026, it has grown rapidly, attracting more than 2,000 regular users who have generated over 400,000 queries across a wide range of operational and policy-related topics.
Unlike general-purpose AI applications, the assistant has been developed specifically for DG INTPA’s operational environment. The platform understands the organisation’s terminology, internal procedures, policy priorities and working methods, allowing staff to retrieve relevant information more efficiently while supporting complex policy and funding decisions.
The AI solution combines advanced language models with secure access to DG INTPA’s internal knowledge base and documentation, while also incorporating internet connectivity where appropriate. This enables employees working across global delegations to obtain contextual information that supports day-to-day operations without replacing human judgement.
According to Accenture, the platform has helped reduce the time spent searching for information, allowing teams to focus more on policy analysis, strategic planning and decision-making. The initiative reflects a broader shift toward integrating AI into public sector operations while maintaining security and governance standards.
The deployment also demonstrates how customised AI systems can address the specialised requirements of large public institutions. Rather than relying on off-the-shelf tools, the platform has been tailored to fit DG INTPA’s operational needs, ensuring responses align with the organisation’s established processes and international development priorities.
As governments continue to explore practical uses of artificial intelligence, the project highlights the growing role of AI in improving organisational efficiency, strengthening knowledge management and supporting large-scale international operations through purpose-built digital solutions.
