Adani Hydro to Develop 2,250 MW Power Project in Andhra Pradesh

As part of the state’s plan to expand renewable energy, Adani Hydro Energy Eleven Ltd. would build a 2,250 MW pumped storage power plant in Andhra Pradesh. Under the Andhra Pradesh Integrated Clean Energy Policy 2024, the Gandikota-2 Pumped Storage Project (PSP) will be situated in the YSR Kadapa district.
The project will be created at the Lord Balaji Donthi Kona PSP Park and is anticipated to be finished in 72 months, according to an official statement. By storing surplus electricity produced from renewable sources, the massive hydro storage project aims to improve grid stability and strengthen the integration of renewable energy.
In order to balance the demand for electricity and aid India’s shift to cleaner energy sources, pumped storage projects are thought to be essential. With its most recent clean energy strategy, the Andhra Pradesh government has been aggressively encouraging investments in renewable energy and storage infrastructure.
In addition to helping India’s larger objectives of increasing sustainable power generation and lowering reliance on fossil fuels, the Gandikota-2 project is anticipated to make a substantial contribution to the state’s long-term energy security.
