
A number of significant projects aimed at bolstering India’s infrastructure, agricultural support systems, and energy security have been approved by the Union Cabinet, which is led by Narendra Modi.
The amended permission for the HPCL Rajasthan Refinery Limited in Barmer, Rajasthan, with an updated project cost of ₹89,469 crore, is a significant feature. Operating by July 2026, the refinery is anticipated to increase domestic fuel output, lessen reliance on imports, and create jobs.
Two hydropower projects, Kamla (1,720 MW) and Kalai II (1,200 MW), have been permitted in Arunachal Pradesh to boost regional growth and power generation.
Phase 2 of the Jaipur Metro, which includes a 41-kilometer line to enhance urban mobility and lessen traffic, was also approved by the Cabinet.
In order to help farmers in the face of escalating world prices, nutrient-based fertilizer subsidies totaling ₹41,533 crore have been granted for the Kharif 2026 season.
These choices are intended to boost infrastructure, promote economic expansion, and bolster food and energy security.
