India’s iGOT Karmayogi Training Push Accelerates AI Adoption in Governance

With the iGOT Karmayogi platform emerging as a key tool for educating officials and implementing AI-driven solutions, India is accelerating the incorporation of AI into government operations.

The government is moving from pilot initiatives to large-scale deployment under Mission Karmayogi, concentrating on developing AI capabilities across ministries and state departments. The usage of AI in areas like chatbot-based grievance systems, automated salary processing, anomaly detection, and real-time documentation was emphasized by officials.

Rachna Shah, the secretary of the Department of Personnel and Training, recently emphasized increased cost-effectiveness, efficiency, and openness while highlighting the necessity of cybersecurity and data privacy protections.

Using tools like Microsoft Copilot and structured AI training modules, such as generative AI, states like Haryana are increasing adoption.

According to officials, the next stage will concentrate on integrating AI into governance workflows, allowing for data-driven decision-making and customized learning systems. This will represent a major change in policy toward the deployment of AI in institutions.
