Travelxp Introduces Marco, an AI Agent Designed to Book Entire Trips

Travelxp launches Marco, an AI travel agent that plans and books trips, manages budgets, coordinates groups and handles changes.

Travelxp has introduced Marco, an artificial intelligence-powered travel agent designed to manage and book trips through a conversational interface. The service allows travellers to describe their plans in ordinary language, set a spending limit and authorise Marco to arrange travel-related bookings within the approved budget.

According to Travelxp, Marco can coordinate flights, accommodation, cars and restaurant reservations from within a chat. It also explains the actions it takes and provides a reason for each booking. The platform is being launched at the Global Fintech Fest, where it is presented as an AI concierge capable of completing payments with the traveller’s permission.

Marco is designed to support solo travellers, couples, families and larger groups. For group holidays, the service can work through WhatsApp, allowing participants to share preferences, discuss plans and contribute budget requirements in one conversation. The agent can use details such as preferred locations, accommodation styles, food requirements and nearby activities while preparing a travel plan.

The system also includes budget controls for individual bookings. Travellers can specify conditions under which Marco may proceed, such as purchasing a flight only when its fare falls below a particular amount. Travelxp states that payments are made only within the spending limit approved by the user, with card-based agentic payments supported across major card networks. UPI payments are listed as a future capability.

Marco is also intended to assist after bookings are made. If a flight is delayed, the service can identify related changes, such as shifting an airport pickup, informing the accommodation provider or adjusting dinner plans, subject to the permissions granted by the traveller.

For group expenses, Marco maintains a shared trip ledger and updates individual contributions when participants join or skip activities. This is intended to help travellers track expenses without relying on separate calculations or spreadsheets.

Travelxp has cautioned that AI systems can make mistakes and says each booking includes an explanation. The fare-monitoring and payment examples shown on the website are illustrative and do not represent live monitoring or transactions.
