Mumbai, India: The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has launched the Cyber Suraksha Portal, a centralised platform designed to improve the sharing of cybersecurity information across the securities market.

The new portal will provide market participants with access to cybersecurity-related information, including the latest regulatory circulars, vulnerability warnings and insights into cyber incidents. SEBI said the platform is intended to serve as a single hub for sharing cybersecurity knowledge and information with stakeholders across the securities market.

Through the portal, market participants can track information on emerging vulnerabilities and cyber incidents alongside SEBI’s latest cybersecurity-related communications. The move is aimed at making relevant information more accessible and supporting greater awareness of cyber risks among entities operating in the securities ecosystem.

The launch forms part of SEBI’s broader Cyber Security Initiative as financial markets increasingly rely on interconnected digital infrastructure. The regulator has been strengthening cybersecurity and cyber-resilience requirements for entities under its oversight.

In August 2024, SEBI introduced the Cybersecurity and Cyber Resilience Framework (CSCRF) for regulated entities. The framework focuses on strengthening their ability to anticipate, withstand, contain, recover from and evolve in response to cyber risks and incidents.

The new portal comes alongside other measures being introduced by SEBI to improve the securities market’s cyber defences. On August 24, the regulator also aligned its Cyber Incident Reporting Portal with the Financial Stability Board’s FIRE format, providing a more structured approach to reporting cybersecurity incidents.

The launch comes against a backdrop of rising cyber risks in India. Data tracked by the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) showed 29.44 lakh cybersecurity incidents in 2025, compared with 20.41 lakh in 2024.

With the Cyber Suraksha Portal, SEBI is bringing cybersecurity advisories, vulnerability information and incident insights together on one platform for securities market participants.
