The Tata group has once again secured the top position as India’s most valuable brand, according to the Brand Finance India 100 2026 report. The latest assessment values the conglomerate’s brand at US$33.6 billion, marking a 6% increase from the previous year and extending its leadership in the annual rankings.

The Tata group has been named India’s most valuable brand for 2026, maintaining the top position in the latest Brand Finance India 100 report. The global brand valuation consultancy estimated the group’s brand value at US$33.6 billion, up 6% from 2025, continuing a streak that has seen Tata lead the rankings since 2018.

According to Brand Finance, the group’s continued growth reflects investments across emerging and established sectors, including electronics, digital infrastructure, semiconductors, renewable energy and electric mobility. The report also highlighted Tata’s continued leadership in core industries such as information technology services, steel, commercial vehicles, jewellery and fashion.

The report also ranked the Tata group highest in Sustainability Perceptions Value (SPV), assigning it a value of US$2.9 billion. The SPV metric measures the financial value linked to a brand’s reputation for sustainable business practices.

Several Tata companies also received category-specific recognition in the 2026 rankings. Taj Hotels retained its position as India’s strongest brand, achieving a Brand Strength Index score of 93.5 out of 100 and earning the AAA+ rating for the fifth consecutive year. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) remained the country’s most valuable IT services brand, while Tata Steel ranked first among Indian mining, iron and steel brands.

Other Tata businesses featured prominently in their respective sectors. Tata Consumer Products secured fifth place among India’s most valuable food brands, Tata Projects ranked fifth in engineering, Tata Power placed second in the energy category, and Tata Motors was ranked second among Indian automobile brands.

The annual Brand Finance India 100 report evaluates the country’s leading brands based on their financial value and brand strength, providing a benchmark for corporate brand performance across industries.
