A significant upgrade to Gemini in Chrome for macOS, Windows, and Chromebook Plus devices has been released by Google. It includes additional automation features, deeper app integrations, a revamped side panel, and image modification tools. The update, which is based on Google’s Gemini 3 paradigm, aims to make it easier for users to multitask and perform complicated tasks while browsing.
Gemini will now launch on a separate side panel in Chrome, giving users access to AI support in addition to open tabs. This makes it possible to perform things like organizing schedules without moving tabs, summarizing web pages, and comparing data across sites.
In addition, Google is immediately integrating Nano Banana, its image modification tool, into Chrome. Without downloading or re-uploading assets, the capability enables users to edit photographs using text prompts within the browser.
With an inclusion of support for Connected Apps, such as Gmail, Calendar, YouTube, Maps, Google Shopping, and Google Flights, Gemini can now reference data from many services to help with tasks like creating emails or making travel plans.
In the upcoming months, Chrome will also get Personal Intelligence, which will let Gemini to use previous chats for more tailored responses if they choose to do so. Google is launching Auto Browse, an agentic function intended to manage multi-step web tasks with user consent, for AI Pro and Ultra members in the United States.
