Adani Defense, Embraer Plan E175 Regional Jet Assembly Line in India

By agreeing to an expanded Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to build a Final Assembly Line (FAL) for the E175 regional jet in India, Adani Defence & Aerospace and Embraer have fortified their collaboration. The proposed facility is an important step in creating an indigenous regional aviation ecosystem and would help India’s Regional Transport Aircraft (RTA) program.

In the presence of Indian Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal and Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, Francisco Gomes Neto and Jeet Adani signed the Memorandum of Understanding.

In addition to outlining a more comprehensive plan encompassing aircraft manufacture, supply chain development, aftermarket services, pilot training, and order acquisition, the deal expands upon an earlier Memorandum of Understanding inked in January 2026. Additionally, the partnership strengthens India-Brazil strategic connections.

Over the next 20 years, India is anticipated to require more than 500 aircraft in the 80–146 seat class. The E175 is positioned to facilitate regional connectivity, especially under the UDAN program, connecting Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities and propelling the expansion of domestic aviation. It can accommodate up to 88 passengers.
