Suzlon Secures 400 MW Tata Power Order, Crosses 1 GW Partnership Milestone

Suzlon has expanded its long-standing partnership with Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) after securing a new 400 MW EPC wind energy order, taking the companies’ cumulative collaboration beyond the 1 GW mark.

Suzlon Group has received a fresh 400 MW engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) order from Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), marking another significant addition to the companies’ renewable energy partnership. With the latest project, the total capacity awarded by Tata Power to Suzlon has now exceeded 1 GW.

The new project will be developed under Suzlon’s Development-cum-Engineering, Procurement and Construction (DevCo-led EPC) model. As part of the agreement, Suzlon will supply and install 127 wind turbine generators, each with a rated capacity of 3.15 MW. The turbines will feature the company’s Hybrid Lattice Tubular (HLT) towers and are designed to enhance energy generation while optimising land use.

The project is scheduled to be executed in Karnataka, where it is expected to contribute to strengthening renewable energy capacity and support the state’s clean energy objectives.

According to Suzlon, the scope of work extends beyond turbine supply and installation. The company will also oversee project execution, including commissioning, while providing long-term operations and maintenance services after the wind farm becomes operational.

The latest order further deepens the relationship between Suzlon and Tata Power, which has expanded steadily through multiple renewable energy projects over the years. Crossing the 1 GW milestone reflects the growing scale of collaboration between the two companies as utilities continue to increase investments in renewable power generation.

Company executives described the order as an important step in supporting India’s transition towards cleaner sources of electricity while reinforcing confidence in domestically developed wind energy solutions. They also noted that the DevCo-led EPC approach is intended to simplify project development and accelerate execution timelines.

The announcement comes as India’s renewable energy sector continues to witness increased capacity additions, with wind power remaining a key component of the country’s long-term energy transition strategy. Large-scale utility projects such as this are expected to play a role in expanding renewable electricity generation while supporting India’s broader clean energy ambitions.
