Apple Invests Rs 100 Crore in India’s Renewable Energy Expansion

With the goal of developing more than 150 MW of green energy capacity in collaboration with CleanMax, Apple has announced an investment of Rs 100 crore to enhance its sustainability and renewable energy projects in India.

In addition to supporting Apple’s efforts to boost the usage of renewable energy throughout its operations and supply chain in India, the project is anticipated to produce enough clean energy to power about 150,000 Indian households each year. The move, according to the firm, is in line with its worldwide objective of becoming carbon neutral by 2030.

Through partnerships with WWF-India and Acumen, Apple is bolstering its environmental sustainability initiatives in addition to expanding its use of renewable energy. The programs’ main goals are to lessen plastic pollution, enhance waste management systems, and assist green businesses that are developing sustainable solutions.

While the Apple-Acumen initiative will offer funds and coaching to businesses in fields including regenerative agriculture, the circular economy, and sustainable consumerism, Apple and WWF-India are expanding recycling and garbage recovery programs in areas like Goa and Coimbatore.

According to Apple, it has already cut greenhouse gas emissions worldwide by more than 60% since 2015 while expanding its activities internationally.
